Myo-Inositol works by 2 ways : 1- By improving insulin sensitivity Myo-Inositol decreases the insulin resistance . Myo-Inositol acts as secondary messenger of the conduction of signals that enhances the sensitivity of insulin receptors located on cell membrane. Thus decreasing the elevated levels of insulin in the blood, regulation the hormonal levels & menstrual cycle. 2- By improving the oocytes quality Myo-Inositol is an important component of the growing follicle. It has been observed that abundant levels of Myo-Inositol in follicular fluid is an indication of good quality oocytes. In vitro,it has been shown that the addition of Myo-Inositol to the culture medium of murine oocytes improves the meiotic progression & maturation of the oocytes . Scientific evidence demonstrates that Myo-Inositol can change some hormonal parameters such as the reduction in plasma levels of LH, testoterone, prolactin & LH/FSH ratio.
