Sematide 0.5mg Pfs is semaglutide in a prefilled syringe for once-weekly subcutaneous injection. It is a GLP-1 receptor agonist used for type 2 diabetes and, in some regions, for weight management. It improves glycaemic control and may promote weight loss when used with diet and exercise.

Purpose

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as adjunct to diet and exercise.

Ingredients

Semaglutide 0.5mg per prefilled syringe (solution for injection).

Warnings

Contraindicated in personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2. Risk of pancreatitis. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Not a substitute for insulin.

Side Effects

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, constipation. Rare: pancreatitis, diabetic retinopathy complications. Report severe abdominal pain or vision changes.

Storage Instructions

Store in refrigerator (2–8°C) before first use. After first use, may be stored at room temperature for up to 28 days. Do not freeze. Protect from direct heat and light.
