Ticovate Oint (10g) is a potent topical corticosteroid ointment formulated with fluticasone propionate to alleviate inflammatory skin disorders. It works by diffusing across cell membranes to induce lipocortins, which actively inhibit phospholipase A2 and stop the cascade of inflammatory arachidonic acid metabolites. This localized immunosuppressive action quickly reduces the erythema, swelling, pruritus, and cellular infiltration associated with severe eczema and plaque psoriasis.

Purpose

To relieve the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.

Ingredients

Fluticasone Propionate 0.005% w/w

Warnings

For external dermatological use only and must never be applied to the eyes, eyelids, or internal mucous membranes. Do not apply under occlusive dressings or over extensive body surface areas to prevent significant systemic corticosteroid absorption. Do not use continuously for more than a few weeks without regular clinical evaluation to avoid permanent skin thinning. Contraindicated as a primary therapy for untreated bacterial, viral, or fungal skin infections as it may mask infection spread.

Side Effects

Localized burning, stinging, or transient irritation at the application site immediately after spreading. Skin atrophy, thinning of the dermal layers, or the development of fine striae with prolonged use. Telangiectasia or visible dilation of superficial blood vessels, particularly on sensitive areas like the face. Hypertrichosis or localized increases in fine hair growth at the site of repeated application.
