Tracnesan Cream (10g) is a potent topical retinoid formulation containing tretinoin, prescribed for the comprehensive treatment of acne vulgaris. It works by binding to specific nuclear retinoic acid receptors, modifying gene expression to decrease the cohesiveness of follicular epithelial cells and increase epidermal cell turnover. This mechanism effectively expels existing comedones, prevents the formation of new microcomedones, and thins the stratum corneum to normalize follicular desquamation.

Purpose

To treat mild-to-moderate acne vulgaris, clear comedones, and prevent follicular blockages on the facial skin surface.

Ingredients

Tretinoin 0.05% w/w

Warnings

Apply exclusively at night to clean, thoroughly dry skin; wait at least 20 to 30 minutes after washing your face to avoid irritation. Avoid all contact with the eyes, eyelids, nostrils, mouth, mucous membranes, and open or sunburnt skin surfaces. Daily application of a broad-spectrum sunscreen is mandatory during therapy due to significantly increased skin photosensitivity. Do not use concurrently with strong drying agents, sulfur, resorcinol, or abrasive chemical facial scrubs.

Side Effects

Initial acne flare-up or worsening of lesions during the first two to three weeks of starting therapy. Marked localized skin reactions including erythema, scaling, severe peeling, dryness, and a burning sensation. Increased vulnerability to sunburn and extreme sensitivity to environmental elements like wind or cold. Temporary skin discoloration, hypopigmentation, or localized hyperpigmentation at the application site.
