Tracnesan Cream (30g) is a concentrated topical retinoid therapy formulated with tretinoin to regulate skin cell turnover and treat acne vulgaris. It works by stimulating mitotic activity in the follicular epithelium, reducing the adhesion of keratinocytes within the sebaceous follicle to prevent the formation of keratin plugs. This targeted peeling and cellular renewing action smoothly clears blackheads and whiteheads while actively accelerating the healing of inflammatory acne lesions over time.

Purpose

To treat and manage acne vulgaris by eliminating existing microcomedones and suppressing new follicular plug formation.

Tretinoin 0.05% w/w

Warnings

Strictly contraindicated for use during pregnancy or if planning a pregnancy due to the potential risk of teratogenicity. Apply a pea-sized amount for the entire face; over-application will not speed up results but will cause severe skin irritation. Avoid exposure to artificial ultraviolet light sources or direct sunlight without adequate physical and chemical sun protection. Exercise extreme caution if applying near sensitive structural areas like the neck or corners of the mouth.

Side Effects

Pronounced epidermal scaling, skin peeling, localized redness, and a feeling of tight or sunburnt skin. Transient stinging or a warm burning sensation shortly after applying the cream to the face. Hyper-reactivity to topical skincare products containing alcohol, astringents, or high concentrations of citrus fruit acids. Reversible changes in localized skin pigmentation in individuals with darker skin profiles.
