Vildagliptin 25mg tablets for type 2 diabetes; DPP-4 inhibitor.
Vadil 25mg contains vildagliptin, a DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitor. It increases incretin hormones, which stimulate insulin release and reduce glucagon secretion, thereby lowering blood glucose in type 2 diabetes. Vadil is used as monotherapy or with other antidiabetic agents when diet and exercise are insufficient.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.
Ingredients
Vildagliptin 25mg per tablet.
Warnings
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution in hepatic impairment. Monitor for signs of pancreatitis.
Side Effects
Nausea, dizziness, headache, peripheral edema. Rare: pancreatitis, hepatic dysfunction, severe arthralgia.
