Risperidone 1mg tablets for schizophrenia, bipolar I mania, and irritability associated with autism.
Vepridone contains risperidone, an antipsychotic that acts on dopamine and serotonin receptors. It is used to treat schizophrenia, manic episodes in bipolar I disorder, and irritability associated with autism. It helps restore balance in brain chemistry and should be taken under ongoing medical supervision.
Purpose
Treatment of schizophrenia; short-term treatment of manic episodes in bipolar I disorder; treatment of persistent aggression and irritability in autistic disorder (in certain patients).

Risperidone 1mg per tablet.
Warnings
Increased mortality in elderly with dementia-related psychosis. Not for use in dementia-related behavioural disturbance unless assessed by a specialist. Caution in cardiovascular disease, epilepsy, Parkinson’s. Avoid abrupt withdrawal.
Side Effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, headache, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, constipation, increased appetite, weight gain, blurred vision, nasal congestion. Extrapyramidal symptoms, tardive dyskinesia, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome may occur. Elderly with dementia: increased risk of stroke and death.
