Vilcret Plus (50/500mg) 14 Tablets
Sitagliptin 50mg and Metformin 500mg for type 2 diabetes.
Vilcret Plus 50/500mg is a fixed-dose combination of sitagliptin 50mg (DPP-4 inhibitor) and metformin 500mg (biguanide) for type 2 diabetes. Sitagliptin increases incretin-mediated insulin release; metformin reduces hepatic glucose output. Take with meals as directed. Pack of 14 tablets.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Ingredients
Sitagliptin (as phosphate) 50mg and Metformin hydrochloride 500mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for type 1 diabetes. Risk of lactic acidosis. Discontinue before contrast procedures if required.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort. Rare: lactic acidosis (metformin), pancreatitis (sitagliptin).
