Vpirin 10/100 mg (30 Tablet / Pack)
A combination statin and low-dose antiplatelet cardioprotective tablet designed to reduce lipid levels and lower the risk of blood clots.
Vpirin is a dual-action oral cardiovascular formulation combining an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor with a low-dose antiplatelet agent. The active ingredient Rosuvastatin selectively and competitively inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme that converts 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A to mevalonate, thereby reducing hepatic cholesterol synthesis, increasing surface LDL receptors, and accelerating LDL clearance to optimize lipid profiles. Concurrently, Aspirin (Acetylsalicylic Acid) irreversibly acetylates platelet cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), completely halting the biosynthesis of thromboxane A2, a potent inducer of platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. This therapeutic combination works synergistically to lower serum atherogenic lipids, stabilize arterial plaques, and prevent the formation of occlusive vascular thrombi.
Purpose
Indicated for the secondary prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular ischemic events, such as heart attacks or strokes, in patients with established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or mixed dyslipidemia.
Ingredients
Rosuvastatin + Aspirin
Warnings
Contraindicated in patients with active liver disease, unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases, severe renal impairment, active pathological bleeding (such as peptic ulcer or intracranial hemorrhage), or a history of aspirin-induced asthma. Strictly contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation due to serious fetal harm and cholesterol biosynthesis disruption risks. Monitor liver enzymes (ALT/AST) and creatine kinase (CK) levels routinely; immediately discontinue if myopathy or rhabdomyolysis is suspected. Discontinue therapy 5 to 7 days before planned surgical or dental procedures to mitigate excessive bleeding hazards. Avoid in children and adolescents due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.
Side Effects
Headache, myalgia (muscle pain), nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, or a slight increase in bleeding tendencies such as minor nosebleeds or easy bruising.
Storage Instructions
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C (86°F), strictly protected from absolute moisture, humidity, and direct sunlight. Keep the tablets in their original blister packaging until immediate use. Keep out of reach of children.
