It contains two medicines: latanoprost and timolol. Latanoprost belongs to a group of medicines known as prostaglandin analogues. Timolol belongs to a group of medicines known as beta-blockers. Latanoprost works by increasing the natural outflow of fluid from the eye into the bloodstream. Timolol works by slowing the formation of fluid in the eye .

Warnings

Patients with severe peripheral circulatory disturbance/disorders (i.e. severe forms of Raynaud''''s disease or Raynaud''''s syndrome) is advised to be treated with caution.
Respiratory reactions, including death due to bronchospasm in patients with asthma have been reported following administration of some ophthalmic beta-blockers. It is advised to be used with caution, in patients with mild/moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and only if the potential benefit outweighs the potential risk.
Beta-blockers is advised to be administered with caution in patients subject to spontaneous hypoglycaemia or to patients with labile diabetes, as beta-blockers may mask the signs and symptoms of acute hypoglycaemia.

Side Effects

Darkening of mixed coloured irides ; inform patient . Darker , longer or thicker lashes . Blurred vision , conjunctival hyperaemia , foreign body sensation , transient punctate epithelial erosion , periorbital oedema . Rarely macular oedema , iritis , uveitis , darkening of palpebral skin , exacerbation of asthma , dyspnoea , cardiac failure . Systemic B Blockers effects.
