Xefecta (400mg) contains cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea. Take as directed; complete the full course.
Purpose
Treatment of bacterial infections including respiratory tract, urinary tract, otitis media, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea when caused by susceptible organisms.
Ingredients
Cefixime 400mg per tablet.
Warnings
Prescription only. Do not use if allergic to cephalosporins or penicillins. Complete full course. Report severe diarrhoea or allergic reactions.
Side Effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, rash. Pseudomembranous colitis and allergic reactions may occur. Report severe diarrhoea, rash, or swelling.
