Xiga Met Xr (5/500mg) 14 Tablets
Dapagliflozin 5mg and Metformin XR 500mg for type 2 diabetes.
Xiga Met Xr 5/500mg is a fixed-dose combination of dapagliflozin 5mg (SGLT2 inhibitor) and metformin extended-release 500mg (biguanide) for type 2 diabetes. Dapagliflozin increases urinary glucose excretion; metformin XR reduces hepatic glucose production with once-daily dosing. Take with food as directed. Pack of 14 tablets.
Purpose
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
Ingredients
Dapagliflozin (as propanediol monohydrate) 5mg and Metformin hydrochloride (extended-release) 500mg per tablet.
Warnings
Contraindicated in severe renal impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for type 1 diabetes. Risk of lactic acidosis and ketoacidosis. Monitor renal function. Discontinue before contrast if required.
Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, genital mycotic infections. Rare: lactic acidosis, ketoacidosis, Fournier gangrene.
