Amlodipine 5mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg for hypertension.
Zamlo H 5/12.5mg is a fixed-dose combination of amlodipine 5mg (calcium channel blocker) and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg (thiazide diuretic). Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels; HCTZ reduces fluid volume. Used for hypertension when single-agent therapy is insufficient. Take once daily.
Purpose
Treatment of hypertension in adults.
Ingredients
Amlodipine (as besylate) 5mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg per tablet.
Warnings
Not for use in pregnancy. Avoid in severe hepatic impairment, anuria. Monitor potassium and blood glucose. May increase sensitivity to sunlight.
Side Effects
Edema, headache, dizziness, fatigue. May cause hypokalemia, hyperglycemia, or gout. Photosensitivity with HCTZ.
