Povi Max Alcohol Swab is a single-use antiseptic swab made of a 2-ply non-woven fabric pad saturated with a povidone-iodine solution. It is used to disinfect the skin prior to injections, blood draws, minor wounds, or surgical procedures, helping to reduce the risk of infection. Povidone-iodine is a broad-spectrum antiseptic effective against bacteria, viruses and fungi. The individually wrapped format ensures sterility until use.

Warnings

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth and mucous membranes. Not to be used by individuals with a known iodine allergy or thyroid disorders, and use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Prolonged or repeated use on large areas of skin, especially in infants, should be avoided due to the risk of iodine absorption. Discontinue use if irritation, rash or allergic reaction develops.

Side Effects

May cause mild, temporary staining of the skin (brownish tint), which fades over time. Some individuals may experience redness, itching, or contact dermatitis at the application site. Rarely, iodine sensitivity can cause a more significant allergic reaction, including swelling or blistering. Excessive systemic absorption is very rare with normal topical use but has been reported with extensive or repeated application.
