Dafo M 5/1000mg is a combination tablet containing Dapagliflozin and Metformin Hydrochloride, used to manage blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. Dapagliflozin lowers blood sugar by promoting glucose excretion through the kidneys, while Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Warnings

Avoid excessive alcohol intake. Should be temporarily discontinued before procedures involving contrast dye. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.

Side Effects

Common side effects include gastrointestinal upset such as nausea, diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort, along with genital infections and urinary tract infections. Metformin may rarely cause vitamin B12 deficiency with long-term use. Seek urgent medical attention for symptoms of lactic acidosis such as severe fatigue, muscle pain or difficulty breathing.
