This combination tablet contains empagliflozin, linagliptin, and metformin, three medicines that work together to control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes. Empagliflozin promotes glucose loss through urine, linagliptin boosts insulin release after meals, and metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. It is used when diet, exercise, and simpler regimens are insufficient. It is usually taken with meals to reduce stomach upset.
