Sotagliflozin is a dual SGLT1/SGLT2 inhibitor used to help control blood sugar in adults with diabetes, and in some cases to reduce the risk of heart-related complications. It works by reducing glucose absorption in the gut and increasing glucose loss through the kidneys. It is taken once daily, generally before the first meal. Blood sugar and kidney function should be monitored during treatment.
