Rivastigmine is used to treat mild to moderate dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. It works by increasing levels of a brain chemical involved in memory and thinking. It is usually started at a low dose and gradually increased as tolerated. Regular follow-up with a doctor is recommended to assess response and side effects.
